The 52nd IAWP Conference began today with lots of rain and cold, but we still held the Memorial March. I posted a video on FB so it can be seen. We also had the Opening Ceremonies at the Legislative Building, at which Maureen Ing, of the Vancouver Police Department and Carol Ann Halliday also of the Vancouver Police Department were the recipients of the Heritage Award.
Two days prior, September 26&27, the Late Board Meeting was held. If you log onto the iawp@wildapricot.com site, all of the motions and reports are printed. The motions that were presented all passed and will be implemented.
Recent appointed Regional Coordinators were introduced and announced. They were:

Cairns, Australia has put in a bid to host the 2017 IAWP Training Conference. There are still a few questions the Board has, but the Members at the AGM voted to accept the bid if the questions are answered.
2016 stll does not have a host city. I volunteered to be a backup if Wisconsin or Calcary, Canada fell through but then decided to go ahead and make a bid. If we get it I will put out a request for volunteers from the Region to assist. I think it would be fun to host it in the USA again and San Francisco especially. Yes, it will be a lot of work but it will be successful. Please think of any sponsors/companies that might like to be involved and/or make a donation. If I don't get the bid I will plan a Regional Conference instead.
The next Early Board Meeting will be in February (the last week), in Denver.
