The National Center for Women and Policing publications are now available to download or to order. Check out http://www.womenandpolicing.org/publications.asp to see what's available.
If any of your agencies has a monthly or quarterly publication that comes out, please consider writing a short blurb about the IAWP, along with submitting the organization's membership form (which can be obtained online at the organization's website at www.iawp.org), and send it to the editor to have him/her print it in the publication; it's a fast and easy was to help spread the word about the IAWP to the other women in your organization! If you don't feel comfortable doing that, you can always just send a personal note, along with the membership form, directly to the women in your agencies, to let them know about the IAWP and to encourage them to join. SO many women in the law enforcement profession still are not aware of the organization's existence, so it's up to all of us to help spread the word, so they're aware of this valuable resource and networking opportunity!
There's still time to register for the annual training conference in Lexington, Kentucky later his month. Check out the website at www.iawp.org for more details. I hope to see a good turnout there from the Region! And, if you're not able to attend and have any ideas or concerns that you would like me to bring before the Board of Directors at the meeting prior to the conference, let me know no later than Wednesday, August 17th; I head for Lexington on the 18th!
Take care and stay safe.
